Informed Life products come from various regions in India.
Specially marked are those;
Nature Growth from Himalayas
Homa/ Agnihotra farmed
Organic Farming
Biodynamic/Anthroposophic
Nature Growth from Himalayas : Those from Uttaranchal are specially marked and are ‘nature’ grown. Though not certified, they Organic and considered Ayurvedic grown. The state policy is to discourage use of chemical and eventually make the state ‘Organic’.
Homa/ Agnihotra farmed : Is a Sanskrit word used here synonymously with Yajna. Yajna is the technical term from the Vedic science of bio energy denoting the process of removing the toxic conditions of the atmosphere through the agency of fire. Homa farming practitioners call theirs the "revealed science", an entirely spiritual practice dating from the Vedic period. As per the Vedic practices all animate and in-animate entities are taken into account in all aspects of life. Farming is done as per ancient practices that include chanting of Sanskrit mantras before a holy fire at specific times in the day and as per astronomical calendar. Having thus "awakened" and energised the farm and the household, the sacred Homa ash is used to energise organic composts, plants, animals, etc.
Organic Farming : It is a holisitc system that promotes and enhances soil health and natural bio-diversity. In simples terms, and as mentioned in www.wikpedia.org, all organic systems share common goals and practices :
• No use of synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, and no GMOs
• protection of the soil (from erosion, nutrient depletion, structural breakdown)
• promotion of biodiversity (e.g. growing a variety of crops rather than a single crop)
• no drugs (e.g. antibiotics, hormones), and access to outdoor grazing, for livestock and poultry.
Biodynamic / Anthroposophic : Simply said, is a scientific acknowledgment of the role of nature and "higher forces" in agriculture. In the 1920s, Rudolf Steiner of Germany put this thinking as a part of his work and it has since then taken off as modern anthroposophy.
A Biodynamic farm is managed on two central aspects – one is farming on the basis of an astronomical calendar, and the other, using special preparations to charge the soil with organic nutrients, etc. This addresses the interrelation ships between the soil, plant and living organisms and considered the earth as a living entity of a living universe.
The apparent difference between the two systems is that whereas Nature Grown and Agnihotra require discipline and regularity and are simple and inexpensive, Organic and Biodynamic are expensive to set up run and certify.
InformedLife is setting up a sophisticated operations management system to provide highest degree of Traceability/ transparency, Accountability and Predictability.
InformedLife managed contract farms are certified Organic.
